Francis Fife Scholarship
TO APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP:
1. Submit an essay of no less than 700 words that explores the concept of our community’s sustainability and quality of life as it is affected by population growth or other anticipated and related change.
2. Sketch, in a page, the applicant’s hopes for his/her future (including prospective college and current thoughts about particularly interesting field(s) of study or future vocations).
3. List high school, civic, and/or community activities and achievements.
4. Ask a teacher, guidance counselor, or mentor in the community to write a letter of recommendation.
5. Have guidance counselor furnish student’s current GPA.
Please submit this package no later than May 1, 2018, to Dr. David Shreve, ASAP President, at cdavidshreve@gmail.com, or mail it to The Francis Fife Scholarship Committee, Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population, P.O. Box 582 Earlysville, VA 22936.
For emailed applications, send the essay, future plans summary, and activities/achievements page in attached Word documents. Arrange to have letters of recommendation and GPA certifications sent directly from the writer (teacher, counselor, ...), in a scanned attachment or mailed to the ASAP P.O. Box.

Our emerging leaders are excited to join UVA's Women in 21st Century Democracy Conference and a three-day workshop on "Promoting Gender Equality in Education" organized by the Presidential Precinct. Thank you for agreeing to host our emerging leaders for site visits during their time in Charlottesville on November 15th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
To give background about the emerging leaders, they are from over 20 countries and are all age 25-35 and are mostly from developing countries or countries in transition. They are all are working on projects that address gender equality, empowerment of women and girls, access to education, and /or youth development.
The emerging leaders will be broken up into teams and will be visiting The Boys and Girls Club (Southwood)/Friendship Court, CHS AVID, City of Promise/West Haven, SARA, and YWLP. At your site, a group of six emerging leaders will be accompanied by a UVA Curry graduate student or a Presidential Precinct staff. The bios of the emerging leaders are attached below.
The idea will be to provide this group with inspiration about ways to engage youth to enable them to thrive in school and prepare for lifelong success.

Our emerging leaders are excited to join UVA's Women in 21st Century Democracy Conference and a three-day workshop on "Promoting Gender Equality in Education" organized by the Presidential Precinct. Thank you for agreeing to host our emerging leaders for site visits during their time in Charlottesville on November 15th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
To give background about the emerging leaders, they are from over 20 countries and are all age 25-35 and are mostly from developing countries or countries in transition. They are all are working on projects that address gender equality, empowerment of women and girls, access to education, and /or youth development.
The emerging leaders will be broken up into teams and will be visiting The Boys and Girls Club (Southwood)/Friendship Court, CHS AVID, City of Promise/West Haven, SARA, and YWLP. At your site, a group of six emerging leaders will be accompanied by a UVA Curry graduate student or a Presidential Precinct staff. The bios of the emerging leaders are attached below.
The idea will be to provide this group with inspiration about ways to engage youth to enable them to thrive in school and prepare for lifelong success.
